In a surreal depiction, director Serpieri reimagines the death of her mother, who steps into the waters of the River Tiber, swallowed by the abyss. To bring her mother back, Serpieri travels in the dark of night through Rome, wading into the depths of the city’s waters, its history, its myths and its cataclysms. As her mother resurfaces, she emerges from the Tiber and flies towards Amor— “the planet of care,” where water unites everyone and heals all wounds.
