OPEN CALL: Visual Identity / Poster Design for MakeDox 2025
Motto: “Who Cares About Reality?”
MakeDox is announcing an open call for the visual identity and poster design of the 16th edition of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from 21 to 28 August 2025 in Skopje.
This year, we ask:
Who cares about reality?
In a world where truth shifts faster than our ability to grasp it, and where images blur the line between fact and fiction, the need to look closely – creatively, critically, and caringly, has never been greater.
This year’s edition continues the journey into the layers of the onion, MakeDox’s trademark. We invite designers, illustrators, and visual thinkers to help us translate this reflection into a powerful poster design that will become the core visual identity of MakeDox 2025.
Your work should maintain a visual connection with the festival’s legacy, continuing the recognizable spirit of MakeDox, while offering freshness and boldness in response to this year’s theme.
Apply with:
- Two visual proposals for the poster (each in JPG or PDF)
- Short concept text (up to 300 words) explaining your ideas and approach
- Short bio and portfolio
Please note: there is an option for selected proposals to be further developed in collaboration with the MakeDox team.
Who Can Apply:
- Individuals or teams
- No geographic restrictions
Deadline: 15 June 2025 at 23:59 CEST
Apply by filling out the FORM.
The selected designer(s) will be commissioned to finalize the festival poster, including adaptations of it for social media and the creation of five double-page spreads for the festival catalogue.
These materials are not required at the application stage, but will be part of the final design process.
The author(s) of the selected proposal will receive a design fee, and be credited in all promotional materials
The organization reserves the right not to select any of the submitted proposals.
What does reality look like today, through your eyes?
