ТРАГАЈЌИ ПО СЛОЕВИТЕ – Работилница за монтажа со Јеспер Осмунд и Ту Стин Милер
Инспирирани од нашите две успешни работилници, работилницата за „раф-кат“ (rough cut) во 2012 година со Јеспер Осмунд и работилницата за развој со Ту Стин Милер во 2022 година, оваа година ќе бидат избрани 4 проекти за работилницата за монтажа. Чест ни е што на 14. издание на „МакеДокс“, кое е фокусирано на монтажата, ги имаме данскиот монтажер Јеспер Осмунд и данскиот филмски консултант и критичар Ту Стин Милер.
Работилницата ќе се одржи од 18 до 20 август.
ЦЕЛ НА РАБОТИЛНИЦАТА:
Работилницата е наменета за 4 избрани филмаџии или тимови со проект што моментално е во процес на монтажа. За време на работилницата ќе се фокусираме на откривање на различните слоеви во вашиот филм, за да ви помогнеме подлабоко да ја разберете внатрешноста на приказната, да ги обликувате нејзините контури и да развиете посилни емоционални перипетија.
Биографии на менторите:
Јеспер Осмунд филмски монтажер, наративен консултант и учител (Данска)
Живее меѓу Копенхаген и Буенос Аирес, имајќи го светот како свое работно место. Ја започнал својата кариера со играни филмови и монтирал неколку дански долгометражни и кратки филмови, кога ненадејно добил понуда да монтира документарен филм. И тогаш, како што вели, добил откровение дека може „да монтира без сценарио“, а потоа решил целосно да се насочи кон интернационалниот документарен филм.
Денес има монтирано над 100 филма, а многу од нив имале премиера на водечките филмски фестивали ширум светот:
„Последната реликвија“ (The Last Relic, светска премиера на Hot Docs Toronto 2023), „Нели и Надин“ (Nelly and Nadine, Теди награда на Берлинале, 2022), „Без бурки зад решетки“ (Меѓународна награда „Еми“ 2014). Има работено и на многу наградувани филмови како: „Посилен од куршум“ (Stronger Than A Bullet), „Да се биде Златан“ (Becoming Zlatan), „Секое лице има име“ (Every Face Has A Name), „Копиле“ (A Bastard Child), „Ќе бидам убиен“ (I Will Be Murdered), „Оние што велат не“ (Those Who Said No), „Бунарот, лудило!“ (The Well, Bananas!), „Големите момци полудеа!“ (Big Boys Gone Bananas!).
Познат е како консултант за нарација или монтажер на приказни, меѓу кои и во популарните серии на Нетфликс како: „Нисман: Обвинителот, претседателот и шпионот“ (Nisman: The Prosecutor, The President And The Spy) и наградувани филмови како: Ништо освен сонцето (Nothing But The Sun), „Сплавот“ (The Raft), „Го нарекував Морган“ (I Called Him Morgan) и „Амазона“ (Amazona).
Тој е ценет ментор на нови филмски работници како на Летната школа на академијата ИДФА веќе 10 години и на организирани настани при „ICE & FIRE“ во Естонија, „МакеДокс“, ДокМонтевидео и EIDF во Кореја.
Работи и како редовен предавач на работилници за пичинг, како North Pitch Tromsø, Thessaloniki IDF, DocLisboa, Baltic Forum, CoPro Israel, Norwegian Sørfond, One World Media, and FDC Colombia.
Ту Стин Милер, консултант за документарци и критичар (Данска)
Работел на документарни филмови повеќе од 20 години во Данскиот филмски одбор, како лице за печат, претставник на фестивалот и филмски консултант/комесар. Соосновач на Балтичкиот филмски и ТВ фестивал (Balticum Film and TV Festival), Филмконтакт Норд, Документаристика на ЕУ (Filmkontakt Nord, Documentary of the EU) и ЕДН (Европска документарна мрежа).
Награди: Во 2004 година ја добива данската награда „Рус“ за неговиот придонес во данската и европската документарна култура. Наградата за промоција на португалски документарни филмови ја добива во 2006 година. Во 2014 година му е доделена наградата ЕДН „за исклучителен придонес во развојот на европската документарна култура“. Две години подоцна, се закитува со Витешки крст од Орденот за заслуги на Летонија (2016). Наградата „Голем печат“ на 15. издание на ЗагребДокс ја добива во 2019. Во 2021 година станува добитник на највисокото државно одликување „Орден на трите ѕвезди“, четврта класа, за значаен придонес во развојот и промоцијата на летонската документарна кинематографија надвор од Летонија. Во 2022 година добива почесна награда на 25. издание на ДоксБарселона, како организатор и програмер од почетокот на фестивалот.
Од 1996 до 2005 година бил првиот директор на ЕДН. Од 2006 работи како хонорарен консултант и предавач на работилници како: Ex Oriente, DocsBarcelona, Archidoc, Documentary Campus, Storydoc, Baltic Sea Forum, Black Sea DocStories, Caucadoc, CinéDOC Tbilisi, Docudays Kiev, Dealing with the Past Sarajevo FF, како и програмски консултант на фестивалите: Магнифисент7 во Белград, DOCSBarcelona, Месиџ2Мен во Санкт Петербург и ДОКЛајпциг. Предава во школата за документаристика „Зелиг“ во Болцано, Италија и пишува критики за www.filmkommentaren.dk.

Romania
Synopsis:
Anelise is a Romanian gay woman. When her girlfriend propose to her, she is confronted with her rights limitation. She decides to sue Romania at the European Court of Human Rights, for equal rights. 20 more couples join. To open the case, they need official written refusals to their marriage requests, and they put themselves to a humiliating procedure.
The case is interconnected with life of Anelise and her girlfriend. The shots are intimate and warm. The pressure oft he trial is too high fort he couple and they break up. Anelise goes through a severe anxiety crisis. When a positive verdict is released this year, Anelise feels empty hearted. But shewill continue the fight until a historical change in Romania.

Director’s bio:
Anelise Salan is a filmmaker from Bucharest with advanced studies in Journalism. After working for 12 years in the biggest TV station in Romania, she became a freelancer and studied photography at The Art School of Bucharest. She attended several international film workshops: ZagrebDOX, Balkan Documentary Center, Thessaloniki Pitching Forum or Go East in Germany.
ANIMALIUM ISTANBUL

Synopsis:
Animalium Istanbul is a documentary film that explores the universal relationship between animals and humans in the urban context of Istanbul, a metropolis with more than 16 million (human) residents. The film delves into the various ways in which animals adapt to the changing environment of the city, and the consequences of these adaptations for both animals and humans. It explores the challenges and consequences of human-wildlife interaction in an urban setting and the impact of human activities on animal populations, aiming to examine these issues from a variety of perspectives, including scientific, evolutionary, cultural and historical.

Director’s bio:
Born in Turkey in 1982, Sıla Ünlü İntepe is an award-winning short film director. She holds a BA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabanci University, as well as a film directing degree from FAMU (Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague). She is an alumna of Berlinale Talent Campus in Directing.
She completed the producer course with Zeynep Atakan in 2011 and the feature length screenwriting workshop at the Gotham Writers New York in 2016. In 2016 – 2017 she co-ordinated the revitalization project of the Turkish Cinematheque and organized 50 screenings in Istanbul with presentations by cinema professionals and others . In 2014, she founded her own production company in Istanbul, through which she has directed, produced and edited over a hundred commercial videos. Recently she graduated as Veterinary Technician, willing to integrate her knowledge on animals into her documentary work.
STORIES OF A LIE

Synopsis:
During a stay in Greece, my native country, I learn of a friend’s illness. Her doctors and family are hiding it from her and I have to keep it a secret as well. I start to remember, bewildered. Having grown up in a medical environment, I remember that I was part of this practice in the past and that it has affected loved ones. I decide to talk to my father, a doctor, and start an intimate investigation in my attempt to understand the reasoning behind medical lies…

Director’s bio:
Born in Athens in 1992, Olia lives and works between Athens and Paris, where she studied cinema and anthropology. “Sacralisons”, her first short documentary, premiered at Thessaloniki Film Festival in 2021. She is currently developing her feature documentary “Stories of a lie”, and is preparing to shoot her first fiction “The first Image”. For the past ten years she has participated in the programming and organization of film festivals (Les Écrans Documentaires, Cinéma du réel, Champs-Élysées film festival, Institut Français, Greek Film Archive) and since 2019 she is the Oxbelly Lab manager.
Editor’s bio: After studying cinema and theatre, Jonathan Arnoult started out as a cameraman and editor and specialised in live performance filming. The need to talk about Reunion Island, where he is originally from, brought him back to cinema. He was a finalist for the Prix Océans with the screenplay DENT POUR DENT (BAY FOR BLOOD), dealing with the shark crisis on the island.
Since 2020, he collaborates with Olia Verriopoulou on her films, produced by Gaëlle Jones (Perspective Films). They edited together SACRALISONS and now STORIES OF A LIE.
SNESCHA AND FRANZ
Bulgaria
Synopsis:
1967, Sunny Beach at socialist Bulgaria. 19-year-old Bulgarian Snescha meets Franz, an 18-year-old Austrian lad. In 1975 they get married and leave for Austria. Snescha gets pregnant and gives birth to twin sisters. Franz embarks to an expedition in Iran and Pamir. Snescha gives birth to a third daughter. Franz next adventure is passing the river Niger with boat. After that he goes back to Austria and buys a house on credit. Despite Snescha’s disagreeing, he sets for a bicycle tour going through Tibet and never comes back. After the death of Franz, Snescha has to find a strength to raise three young kids, become an art teacher and build an artistic career in a foreign country.

Svetoslav Draganov is a Bulgarian filmmaker born 1976. His works as an author, director and producer are MDR award winner at Leipzig Dokfilm festival, 2001- “Life is wonderful, isn’t it ?”, “The Merry Boys” – IDFA 2003, “Young at Heart” winner of special Prix Europa 2003, “Amateurs” – Golden Rhyton for the best Bulgarian documentary of 2005, “Life almost wonderful” – 2013 – IDFA 2013- feature length competition and special mentions at ZagrebDox 2014 and Sofia Film Fest at 2014. His fiction debut “Humble” won Special jury award at Sofia film fest 2022.
