11.MakeDox – Merge with the Silence
Eleven means a new, extraordinary challenge. All of us are thrusted into a world unforeseen. Baffled, isolated. Many of us have listened to the city in silence for the very first time or their own selves, going deep beneath. Many have become vigilant for the significance of culture as maintainer of our mental health. This world is now rather distant but, at the same time, more intimate, slower and mindful. Doesn’t live or do on a whim. Observing the clouds. Reading more. Watching films. Listening.
The number 11 may be read as the beginning of a new decade, as 1.1 or we can read behind its curtains- a number that stands for the gate that leads to other, metaphysical dimensions or as a number that signifies judgment, decision. The eleventh edition of MakeDox is focused on sound and silence. Listening to the simplest, yet the most complicated and gazing at the invisible. We focus on poetry in film- sound design. Just like all of us, the festival, a well-proven wiry weed, will alter its basic rhythm in accordance with the recommendations for social health protection. We announce that we’ll see each other again this summer, for the eleventh time, under the motto that pefectly fits the real or virtual Kushumli An- Merge with Silence…
