Vardan Tozija

Vardan Tozija is a film director and a screenwriter. He has graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje. Prior to his engagement in directing he worked as journalist and editor in domestic newspapers and magazines. He has directed several short fiction films and documentaries – The Man with a Strange Habit of Hitting My Head with an Umbrella, The Whistler, One, Home? – screened and awarded at a number of international film festivals.

His debut feature film Amok premiered at the Chicago Film Festival and has been selected in more than 20 prestigious film festivals worldwide and has received significant critical acclaim and acquired numerous Grand Prix’s and FIPRESCI prizes. His second feature film, M, has traveled at more than 30 festivals since its festival release in 2024, collecting 11 Gran Prix, Best director and Audience awards on some of the biggest international and genre film festivals.

In recent years, he has also worked as director in several domestic TV-series.

 


 

Truls Lie

Lie has a background as newspaper and magazine editor – for 30 years. He is the editor of the cinepolitical documentary magazine Modern Times Review (since 2017). Since 2015 he has been editor of NY TID (modern times), a Norwegian quarterly non-fiction printed book magazine.

As a filmmaker he also creates essayistic documentaries. He is now working on the feature Palestine – Five Essays on Freedom. Lie was the previous publisher and editor-in-chief of Morgenbladet in Oslo (1993–2003) and Le Monde diplomatique (2003-2013). He was also editor of the DOX magazine by EDN for 4 years.

 


 

Mara Prohaska Marković

Mara Prohaska Marković is an art historian, curator, and producer based in Belgrade, Serbia. With over 20 years of experience in the public, civil, and private sectors, she has worked extensively in the fields of culture and the audio-visual industry. 

Her expertise includes producing and curating numerous cultural events, festivals, exhibitions, art residencies, and artworks both in Serbia and internationally. Since 2009, she has been a part of the organizational team of the Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival, where she has held the position of Festival Director since 2020. In this role, she also curates the XR Exhibition: Immersive Reality. 

She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), the Association of Fine and Applied Art of Serbia, and the Documentary Association of Europe, and an alumna of the female leadership programme Audiovisual Women 2023 by the Erich Pommer Institute.
