Hanka and Bronka are neighbors and friends in a Polish village in picturesque Bukovina, Romania – once a vibrant community it consists today of many empty houses and an ageing population. Their lives are marked by the rhythm of changing seasons and the farm work for which they have less and less strength. However, their perseverance is inexhaustible. Their humble acceptance of their fates is an important lesson for us. They live separately but in fact they are inseparable. Sometimes annoyed but never bored with each other. They share joys and tears. They work together and walk together in the forest. They sing and pray. Remember the past and wonder what the future will bring.
