PUNK UNDER THE COMMUNIST REGIME
Under Tito, in the period between 1977 and 1985, the Slovenian punk scene saw the emergence of music groups made up of teenagers who, despite their youth, performed and triggered a wave of repression by the Communist party. This was the first serious countercultural blow in the former socialist Yugoslavia, followed by the “Nazi punk affair”, which led to the imprisonment of three protagonists of the scene. They lived and made music in dangerous times and opened a window to democracy.
