MAKEDOX WARM-UP WITH “THE POLISH PICNIC”
The “Country in Focus” program at this year’s MakeDox will be dedicated to the Polish documentary cinematography. This is why we invite you, together with the Krakow Film Foundation and the Embassy of Poland in Macedonia to the Polish picnic at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje to enjoy in 10 documentary shorts that have been awarded between 1961 and 2000 at the Krakow Film Festival, a festival that will soon celebrate its 60th edition. This is what we have in mind:
17:00 – Opening of 2018 MakeDox Program “Country in Focus: Poland”: short intro about the Polish documentary scene with drinks and some Polish music
18:30 – First slot of short documentary films (89’) at the Museum’s cinema hall:
– “The Musicians” (9’) directed by Kazimierz Karabasz (Golden Dragon Award in 1961)
– “On a railway line” (11’) directed by Bohdan Kosiński (Golden Hobby-horse Award in 1971)
– “Primary school” (16’) directed by Tomasz Zygadło (Golden Dragon Award in 1971)
– “Hair” (17’) directed by Marek Piwowski (Golden Hobby-horse Award in 1972)
– “The Hospital” (20’) directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski (Golden Dragon Award in 1977)
– “Seven women of different ages” (16’) directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski (Golden Hobby-horse Award in 1979)
20:00 – Short break and snacks
21:00 – Second slot of short documentary films (79’) in front of the Museum:
– “The Reading Primer” (8’) directed by Wojciech Wiszniewski (Golden Hobby-horse Award in 1981)
– “Scenes from the life of a man” (20’) directed by Bohdan Dziworski (Golden Dragon Award in 1983)
– “Anything can happen” (39’) directed by Marcel Łoziński (Golden Dragon Award in 1995)
– ”The Sisters” (12’) directed by Paweł Łoziński (Golden Hobby-horse Award in 1999)
22:30 –Polish music party
The Polish Picnic is organized in collaboration with the Krakow Film Foundation, Polish Embassy Skopje and Film and Video Program of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje.
